I’m very excited to announce that I have been endorsed by Governor Dave Heineman in my race for Nebraska Legislature in District 45. Governor Heineman has been a tireless servant for the people of Nebraska. I admire his leadership, and I look forward to working with him if elected in 2012.
“I am endorsing Richard Carter for the legislature because he believes in lower taxes and balancing our budget by controlling spending.”
-Governor Dave Heineman
As I’ve spent the last six months talking with the people of District 45 and engaging in the Bellevue-Offutt community I have also been blessed with an impressive list of endorsements. I am proud to announce that yesterday I was endorsed by LD 45 incumbent Senator Abbie Cornett. Senator Cornett has been a strong voice and tireless public servant for the people of the Bellevue/Offutt Community. I am greatly honored to have her full support and endorsement. I look forward to working with Senator Cornett to ensure a seamless transition of representation of the district in the Legislature.
I’ve spent the last six months of my campaign engaging with the people of Bellevue. During that time I have met many good people, and I am very thankful for all of their encouragement and kind words. I strongly believe that you cannot represent the people without actively engaging in the community and listening to the concerns of the citizens. I have been doing this so far and I vow to continue doing this throughout my campaign and if I am elected. I am doing my best to talk with as many people as possible in the limited time we have before the election on May 15th 2012. I want to know what’s important to you and your family. I hope to have the chance to get to know you and hear about your concerns. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to get involved in my campaign.
I officially announced my candidacy for the Nebraska Legislature LD 45 last week. Since then I have spent time talking with residents and members of the Bellevue community, and I have had a very positive response. In the coming months I am looking forward to discussing the important issues that will be covered in the legislature with the people of LD 45. I am eager to hear your concerns and represent them in Lincoln. I am an economist by profession; teaching economics and business courses at Metropolitan Community College. I was appointed by Governor Dave Heineman to the Judicial Resources Commission, on which I currently serve. Also, like many members of the Bellevue community, I have served my country in the military. I served two combat deployments in Iraq and Afgahnistan. It would be an honor for me to continue my service by representing you in the Nebraska Legislature.
